In her newest piece entitled, "Cartography - Journeys to the New World," Cynthia discusses the journey from the Old to the New World of asset allocation. Centering on the three-legged stool of asset allocation, Cynthia first describes the changes in thinking which are occurring on the economics, mathematics and governance legs of the stool. Far from thinking asset allocation will remain static, she then describes the radical changes which should occur with the timing of the cycle as well as the definition and monitoring of the strategic allocation. Finally, she makes the point that, if we have learned anything over the past two years, it is that circumstances are individual and holistic. Given this new reality, asset allocation is a continuous process which will reframe risk and return as we go forward in the New World.
